The Patras Applied Microeconomics (PAM) Workshop is an annual international event that brings together researchers from leading universities and research institutions to present and discuss frontier research in applied and empirical microeconomics. Since its inception, PAM has developed into a recognised forum for high-quality research, attracting participants and visitors from all around the globe.
PAM Workshop provides a platform for the exchange of ideas on policy-relevant research that combines microeconomic theory with modern empirical methods and credible econometric strategies to study individual behaviour, markets, institutions, and public policy. While the Workshop welcomes contributions from all areas of applied and empirical microeconomics, it places particular emphasis on rigorous causal inference and research with clear policy relevance.
Unlike broad economics conferences, PAM Workshops focus exclusively on applied and empirical microeconomics, creating an environment where researchers working on closely related questions, methods, and datasets can engage in deeper methodological and substantive discussions, and develop lasting collaborations. To preserve this open and collaborative spirit, PAM Workshops do not charge submission or registration fees, ensuring that participation is based solely on academic merit.
The Workshop is committed to fostering rigorous academic discussion in an informal, collaborative, and inclusive environment, bringing together researchers at different career stages and encouraging the exchange of ideas across institutions and countries.
